Working with Square

Do I need an existing Square account?

Yes. Workshop connects to the Square account you already run, and Square’s standard transaction rates apply as normal.

Can I run Square alongside another POS?

Workshop holds one POS connection at a time, so Square is either your point of sale or it isn’t. You can pair it with an accounting connection such as Xero at the same time.

Will my Square catalogue get overwritten?

No. Workshop reads your catalogue and inventory counts and never rewrites your Square prices. What it writes back is customers, and the orders and invoices it raises from jobs.

Is there an extra cost for the integration?

No. The integration is included with Workshop. Your standard Square transaction fees still apply.
