First opened in 2004 as part of Bike Zone Oxford Ltd, Summertown Cycles has grown significantly over the years, becoming an independent shop in 2022 following a change of ownership. Since then, the shop has had a major refurbishment which improved the layout and moved the workshop area to a much larger space towards the back of the showroom. This has significantly reduced lead times for repairs and servicing, enabling same-day collection in the majority of cases. The showroom itself now features a wider range of performance-focused models to sit alongside the ever-popular hybrids and commuter bikes which make up the core of the business. This shift has come alongside the introduction of the Summertown Cycles Club - which offers discounts to members and organises bike races in the area.
