Service Packages

Tyre tread and inflation checked, gears adjusted and aligned, drive-chain cleaned and lubricated and cable brakes adjusted and aligned. A basic service is recommended every 6 Months.

Bronze Service

Inspect frame for damage/wear including dropouts, main tubes, seat clamp area, bottle cage and accessory mounting points

Inspect / adjust suspension linkages (if required)

Inspect fork for damage/wear including dropouts, main tubes, crown, steerer tube and accessory mounting points

Inspect headset for wear/corrosion, adjust

Inspect stem for wear, check/adjust torque, straight

Inspect handlebar for wear/damage, check torque

Inspect handlebar tape/grips for wear/damage

Inspect/adjust hub bearings for wear/damage, ensure smooth movement/no play

Inspect spokes and rim for wear/damage

Inspect spoke tension and true lateral/radial as appropriate

Inspect tyres for condition and wear

Inspect tubeless system, top-up or replace consumables as appropriate

Inspect condition of lever, including main body, blades and position. Adjust if required. 

Inspect condition of hose/cable

Inspect caliper for correct function including clean/lube pistons

Inspect condition of hydraulic fluid if applicable

Inspect brake rotor for wear/damage/torque

Bronze Service - Plus

Adjust brake, ensure correct function including no rub and appropriate bite-point

Fitting of new rim brakes (pads + £5)

Family Bronze Service

Family Bronze Service  - Plus

As per Bronze Service Plus but also including new inner & outer gear and brake cables or hydraulic brake bleed. Then adjustment and alignment of same. Wheels trued for both lateral and radial displacement. 

Silver Service

Suspension forks, clean/inspect seals and upper tubes. Check for function

Ensure smooth rotation of pedal bearings and check for play

Ensure derailleur hanger is straight and secure

Set front derailleur position/height

As per Bronze Service Plus but also including new inner & outer gear and brake cables or hydraulic brake bleed. Then adjustment and alignment of same. Wheels trued for both lateral and radial displacement. 2 adult bikes. Never get left behind on that romantic ride because your bike stopped working.

Couples Silver Service 

As per Bronze Service Plus but also including new inner & outer gear and brake cables or hydraulic brake bleed. Then adjustment and alignment of same. Wheels trued for both lateral and radial displacement. 2 adult & 2 child bikes. Keep everybody happy and moving with well looked after bikes.

Family Silver Service

Complete Strip Down & Rebuild

As per Silver Service but also includes full tear down and rebuild of the bike with all components removed, cleaned, and reinstalled returning the bike as close to showroom condition as possible. A premium service is recommended every 18-24 Months.

Gold Service

Clean and inspect bottom bracket shell threads if appropriate

Install crankset, ensure smooth running/no play

Inspect and regrease pedal/crankarm threads

Clean and inspect seat post and clamp. Grease/fibre grip as appropriate

Clean and insect saddle rails/clamps. Adjust position if needed

Ensure any accessories are safe/secure

Assembly of a new boxed bicycle to PDI standards. 
PDI stands for Pre-Delivery Inspection in the bicycle industry, which is a full inspection of a new bicycle to ensure a correct and proper set up. This is normally a requirement for warranty purposes from most bike manufacturers. Fitting of any accessory you may have also purchased charged at cost of accessory fitting.

Battery Capacity Test

Check of wiring and motor functions for hub motors on e-bikes

E-bike motor diagnostic

Diagnostic of hub mounted e-bike motor including wiring loom continuity

E-bike Cycle Computer -  Carry out a function test on all buttons

E-bike Cycle Computer -  Visually inspect the cables for damage

E-Bike battery - Check that the eBike switches on/off at the battery

E-Bike battery -  Visually check the battery housing and switch for damage

E-Bike battery - Chec k contacts and cables for corrosion, damage and dirt

E-Bike Drive Unit -  Check that the design cover is fitted correctly and is not damaged

E-Bike Drive Unit -  Check that the Drive Unit is secured Properly to the frame interface

E-bike Drive Unit -  Check that the crank fixing bolts are tightened properly

E-bike Drive Unit -  Check contacts and cables for corrosion, damage and dirt

E-Bike Drive Unit -  Visually check and carry out a function test on the chainring holder and lock ring

E-Bike Drive Unit -  Check chainring for wear and damage

E-Bike Drive Unit -  Visually check the chainring housing and retrofit if necessary

E-Bike drive Unit -  Check that the speed sensor and spoke magnet are positioned correctly

Lights, mudguards, bottle cages, panniers, bike bags, bells, reflectors etc.

E-bike Cycle Computer - Check that the eBike switches on/off at the cycle computer

E-bike Cycle Computer -  Check that the cycle computer and display Holder are secured properly

E-bike Cycle Computer -  Check contacts on the display holder for corrosion, damage and dirt

E-bike Cycle Computer -  Check that the design mask is fitted correctly and is not damaged

E-bike Cycle Computer -  Clear error memory

E-bike Cycle Computer -  Check that the software is up to date

E-Bike battery -  Visually check and carry out a function test on the battery fixtures and battery lock

A standard service is recommended every 12 Month. as per the Bronze service but also including new inner & outer gear and brake cables or hydraulic brake bleed. Then adjustment and alignment of same. Electric Silver Service

Update electronic drivetrain firmware

Charge/replace electronic drivetrain batteries

A premium service is recommended every 18-24 Months. As per Silver Service but also includes full tear down and rebuild of the bike with all components removed, cleaned, and reinstalled returning the bike as close to showroom condition as possible

Check of stem, calliper mount, brake clamp, bottle cage, pedal, derailleur mount and clamp bolts, pannier mount and any other nut or bolt. Torqued to manufacturers spec (if not known generic level used)

All Nuts & Bolts Checked for Tightness

Crash damage assessment which involves a full check of your bicycle to determine the components that need to be replaced, including items that may only be cosmetically damaged, which adds to the cost of bringing the bike back to standard.

Bicycle Damage Report for Insurance Companies

Re-tapping of overpainted or stripped frame mounts (if possible).

Brakes (stopping!)

Adjustment for cable brake systems. This helps you stop more safely.

Brakes Adjustment

Per brake. Supply and fitting of replacement inner and outer brake cables. Corrosion is your enemy on these. 

External Brake Cable Replacement

Per pair. Removal of old and replacement with new pad. Resetting of brakes to allow for new pads.

Replace Disc Brake Pads

Per pair. Removal of old and replacement with new pads. Resetting of brakes to allow for new pads.

Replace Rim Brake Pad

Per brake. Removal of front & rear brake systems, supply and fitting of replacement inner & outer brake cables and pads, cleaning and degreasing of the brake surfaces. Makes your brakes feel like new again.

Brake Service 

Hydraulic brake system bleed. New brake fluid introduced to clean the hoses. Air locks are removed. Should be carried out at least every year and when lever action becomes spongy. 

Hydraulic Brake Bleed

Per pair. Supply and fit new inner and outer brake cables with internal routing and perform a safety check. No more unsightly cables. 

Internal Brake Cable Fit

Cockpit (steering!)

Removal of old tape and installation of new bar tape. Price is for labour only. Bar tape is extra but you can supply your favourite and I’ll fit it. Provides comfort over rough roads.

Bar tape wrapping 

Removal of headset to allow for inspection. Clean and regrease of cups and all bearings. Refitting and adjustment for smooth steering.

Headset service

Removal of old and fitting of new/replacement stem. Get the best length for you. I can help with this.

Fork Stem Replacement 

Not including parts. Removal of the old and then fitting of the new headset components to bring back smooth steering.

Headset Replacement

Removal of the old bars and stripping off of the brake and gears levers (if being re-used). Installation of the complete handlebar set-up (brake & gear levers included) onto your bicycle. 

Handlebar Replacement 

Drivetrain (shifting!)

Lubrication of the chain and the front and rear derailleurs

Drivetrain lubrication

Lubrication of a dry chain outwith any service plan

Disassembly of a shifter outwith normal servicing to diagnose shifting issues that cannot be diagnosed otherwise 

Gear shifter fault diagnosis/disassembly

Using Shimano E-tube Project all Di2 components are checked for faults and any software updates applied

Software Update & Diagnostic Report (Di2 only)

Removal of the rear derailleur, checking for hanger alignment and straightening if required. Can have a negative impact on shifting if it’s out.

Derailleur Hanger Alignment 

Re-indexing of the front & rear derailleurs. Smooth shifting makes for an enjoyable ride.

Gears Re-index

Removal of the rear derailleur, replacement of the damaged hanger and checking for hanger alignment and straightening if required. Can have a negative impact on shifting if it’s out.

Derailleur Hanger Replacement

Replacement of your worn cassette. Freehub body greased and cassette lockring torqued to specs. Ideally should be in conjunction with a new chain.

Cassette Replacement & Fit

Replacement of your worn or damaged chain. Light lubrication of the chain. Ideally should be carried out when changing a cassette.

Chain Replacement & Fit

Fitment of new chain and cassette at the same time. Cassette freehub body greased and lockring torqued. Chain lightly lubricated. No more slippage under load.

Cassette/Freewheel and chain combined replacement

Complete replacement of left & right crank arms, bottom bracket, chainring(s) and removal/refitting of pedals. Time for an upgrade? Labour costs only.  

Chainset Replacement 

Installation of a new front or rear derailleur on your pride and joy. Includes removal of the old and indexing the new. 

Front or Rear Derailleur Replacement (per item) 

Supply and fit new inner and outer gear cables. Carry out gear service/re-indexing. No more chain chatter. 

External Routed Gear Cable Replacement (per derailleur)

Complete removal of the bottom bracket. Service and re-grease the bearings or replace (if necessary) and refit. Labour costs only. Could this be the source of that annoying creaking 10 miles into your ride? 

Bottom Bracket Service

Chain, cassette, and derailleur degrease and clean, hanger alignment and re-indexing of the front & rear derailleurs. Silent running like new will give you peace of mind. 

Gear service/Re-index

Supply and fit new inner and outer gear cables and perform gear service/re-indexing. No more unsightly cables. 

Internal Routed Gear Cable Replacement (per derailleur)

Strip down, deep clean, regrease and rebuild of coil spring suspension fork (replacement parts not included)
