Interim Service

The Bike Tailor ‘Interim Service’ is designed as a top-up to our more in-depth servicing, suitable for making sure your bike is ready for an event such as a sportive, or if your bike has been left for a while. Includes: Waterless wash of main frame, fork, and wheels. Checking gear and brake components for any obvious damage or wear. Chain cleaned and lubed. Nut and bolt check, to ensure correct torque of all fastenings. Fine-tuning of gear and brake setup. Inflating tyres, top-up sealant if required. * Excludes the cost of parts and consumables. * We ask that bikes arrive for service in at least a reasonably clean condition for servicing. Excessively dirty bikes may require an additional discretionary charge for cleaning.

Standard Service

The Bike Tailor ‘Standard Service’ is a complete inspection and overall adjustment for your bike, designed to locate and remedy any damage or wear and tear issues before they become serious. Regular servicing such as this is a great way to reduce your overall cycling expenditure. Includes: Waterless wash of main frame, fork and wheels. Wheels removed, inspected for wear and damage, tension and true adjusted where possible. Bearings checked and adjusted where possible. Tyres inspected and inflated. Brakes cleaned and re-set. Pads replaced if required. Drivetrain removed, degreased and re-lubricated. Gear system settings adjusted/re-set as needed. Finishing components such as handlebars, stem, saddle and seat-post wiped clean and inspected. * Excludes the cost of parts and consumables.

Premium Service

The Bike Tailor ‘Platinum Service’ is recommended as an annual service for regular cyclists. It includes all of the features of our ‘Gold’ service, plus: Servicing hubs including replacement of bearings/pawls etc. Servicing headset. Service/replace bottom bracket as required. Diagnostics/update of firmware for electronic gear shift systems. Replacement of brake fluid. Replacement of gear cables if required. Free collection and delivery within Brighton & Hove (BN1, BN2, BN3). * Excludes the cost of parts and consumables.

Custom Bike Build

The Bike Tailor Custom Bike Build: You've done your research and bought the parts, now it's time to get the bike built! Assembling a complete bike from scratch can be time consuming and fraught with issues, not to mention the number of single-use tools and lubricants. Let us take care of this for you. Price includes: - Checking compatibility of parts supplied before the job beginning. - Assembly of the bike. - Test ride to ensure everything is working well and the brakes are bedded in correctly. - Follow-up check within 6 weeks.

Insurance Inspection

If you have been unfortunate enough to have damage to your bike which requires an insurance claim we offer a comprehensive service to provide an inspection and quotation for repair direct to your insurer. We will thoroughly inspect your bike for signs of damage and produce for you a detailed report, alongside a formal quotation for repair. For carbon fibre components including wheel rims and frames, we also work with the UK's leading carbon repair specialist to offer X-Ray inspection of delicate lightweight components which can often have invisible damage following an impact. If you nominate us to deal with your claim on your behalf we can even take the leg work out of dealing with them and save you time as well.

Build Mail-Order Bike

You’ve taken delivery of your dream bike, but the assembly process is too complicated or time consuming. Maybe you just want to be certain that your bike is set up correctly for you. We offer a service to assemble your new bike and get you out there as quickly and safely as possible. We also remove the shipping grease from your chain and lubricate with a high quality wax. This includes a follow-up check within 4 weeks (if required) to pick up and resolve issues such as cable stretch or manufacturing defect. Replace / Repair Tubeless Tyre

- Tubeless tyre replacement or repair using internal patch. - Excludes the cost of sealant. - A surcharge may apply for additional work if required to repair or replace tape/valves etc.

Hub Service

Wheel True With Spoke

- Wheel true with up to 3 replacement spokes. - For wheels with tubeless tyres fitted there is an additional charge to remove and replace the tyre and any rim tape.

Hydraulic Brake Bleed - Per Brake

- Hydraulic brakes require periodic replacement of the fluid to keep them working effectively. - We recommend replacing your hydraulic fluid annually if you're riding regularly.

Hydraulic Brake Service Lever / Caliper

- Modern hydraulic brakes are super reliable, but there are times when they require a little more attention than a clean or a bleed and thus we are able to strip and rebuild many models and return them to their optimum working condition.

Suspension Fork Lower Service

- Modern suspension forks generally require regular attention to keep them running at their best and maintain the manufacturer's warranty. - A lower-leg service involves dropping the lowers and cleaning or replacing the wiper seals and oil.

Rear Shock Air Can Service

- Modern suspension shocks generally require regular attention to keep them running at their best and maintain the manufacturer's warranty. - An air can service involves removing the shock and cleaning or replacing the air can seals and oil. - Shock hardware can be replaced/upgraded during this process without additional labour charge.

Face / Ream Bottom Bracket Shell

- Correct frame preparation is essential for optimum bottom bracket service life. - Recommended for all new frames or where it is unclear whether this has been previously undertaken. - Includes BSA, ITA, and T47

Skarper Installation

The Skarper Install service provides professional installation of the Skarper disk drive system on your bike.
