The Bike Tailor ‘Platinum Service’ is recommended as an annual service for regular cyclists. It includes all of the features of our ‘Gold’ service, plus:

Premium Service

Inspect frame for damage/wear including dropouts, main tubes, seat clamp area, bottle cage and accessory mounting points

The Bike Tailor ‘Standard Service’ is a complete inspection and overall adjustment for your bike, designed to locate and remedy any damage or wear and tear issues before they become serious. Regular servicing such as this is a great way to reduce your overall cycling expenditure. 

Includes:
Waterless wash of main frame, fork and wheels.
Wheels removed, inspected for wear and damage, tension and true adjusted where possible. Bearings checked and adjusted where possible. Tyres inspected and inflated.
Brakes cleaned and re-set. Pads replaced if required.
Drivetrain removed, degreased and re-lubricated. Gear system settings adjusted/re-set as needed.
Finishing components such as handlebars, stem, saddle and seat-post wiped clean and inspected.

Standard Service

The Bike Tailor ‘Interim Service’ is designed as a top-up to our more in-depth servicing, suitable for making sure your bike is ready for an event such as a sportive, or if your bike has been left for a while. 

Includes: 
Waterless wash of main frame, fork, and wheels.
Checking gear and brake components for any obvious damage or wear. 
Chain cleaned and lubed.
Nut and bolt check, to ensure correct torque of all fastenings.
Fine-tuning of gear and brake setup.
Inflating tyres, top-up sealant if required.

* We ask that bikes arrive for service in at least a reasonably clean condition for servicing. Excessively dirty bikes may require an additional discretionary charge for cleaning.

Interim Service

Here you can customise your electric bike services. Please follow the same process as above because these will be displayed separately to your standard services.

If you have been unfortunate enough to have damage to your bike which requires an insurance claim we offer a comprehensive service to provide an inspection and quotation for repair direct to your insurer. We will thoroughly inspect your bike for signs of damage and produce for you a detailed report, alongside a formal quotation for repair. 

For carbon fibre components including wheel rims and frames, we also work with the UK's leading carbon repair specialist to offer X-Ray inspection of delicate lightweight components which can often have invisible damage following an impact. 

If you nominate us to deal with your claim on your behalf we can even take the leg work out of dealing with them and save you time as well.

Insurance Inspection

You’ve taken delivery of your dream bike, but the assembly process is too complicated or time consuming. Maybe you just want to be certain that your bike is set up correctly for you. We offer a service to assemble your new bike and get you out there as quickly and safely as possible. We also remove the shipping grease from your chain and lubricate with a high quality wax. This includes a follow-up check within 4 weeks (if required) to pick up and resolve issues such as cable stretch or manufacturing defect.

Drivetrain Service 2x 

Whether its SRAM eTap, Shimano Di2, Campagnolo EPS, or another system, we offer expert diagnosis, adjustment and repair of all electronic shifting issues.

Most new performance bikes will come with an electronic drivetrain, meaning that the shifting is taken care of by small motors in the derailleurs which is controlled by a button on the handlebars. These systems are a revelation in performance and reliability compared to cable-operated systems, but they have their own share of technical challenges. 

We offer comprehensive installation, diagnostics, and repair service for all makes and models of electronic drivetrain, including Shimano Di2, Sram eTap (inc. ASX), Campagnolo EPS, and more. As these jobs can often be complex and vary in time from bike to bike, these services are carried out at the hourly rate of £80 p.h.

Brake Services

- Hydraulic brakes require periodic replacement of the fluid to keep them working effectively.
- We recommend replacing your hydraulic fluid annually if you're riding regularly.

Rim Brake Replace Pads - Per Brake

- Whether they're rim-brakes or cable discs, eventually dirt, corrosion, and damage/wear take their toll on cables and mean the brake is harder to pull or doesn't return to its open position properly. This is when the cable should be replaced.

Replace Brake Cable - Per Brake

- We often see disc brakes being run with worn out rotors. The minimum recommended thickness of the rotor is generally stamped on it and affects the heat dissipation of the brake - and therefore it's ability to, well, brake! 
- Rotors should be switched out whenever you're swapping between sintered and organic pads.

Replace Disc Brake Rotor

- Most modern hydraulic disc brake systems are self-adjusting and it is therefore recommended to replace pads before they reach the metal backing to ensure no costly damage is done by a totally worn-out pad contacting the rotor.
- We strongly recommend SwissStop brake pad upgrade for most regular riders.
- When changing pad compound (ie, between metallic/sintered and organic) it is critical that the rotor is also replaced.

Disc Brake Replace Pads - Per Brake

- Modern hydraulic brakes are super reliable, but there are times when they require a little more attention than a clean or a bleed and thus we are able to strip and rebuild many models and return them to their optimum working condition.

- A lower-leg service involves dropping the lowers and cleaning or replacing the wiper seals and oil.

- Modern suspension shocks generally require regular attention to keep them running at their best and maintain the manufacturer's warranty. 
- A full rear shock service involves removing the shock, cleaning or replacing the air can seals and oil, and inspection/replacement of damper seals and oil if required.. 
- Shock hardware can be replaced/upgraded during this process without additional labour charge.

- An air can service involves removing the shock and cleaning or replacing the air can seals and oil.
