Hub gears, and Dutch bikes

Unlike some bike shops, we enjoy working on hub gears from Shimano, Sturmey-Archer, and SRAM, and rather than just oil-dipping hubs, we're able to offer a thorough ultrasonic cleaning service. We're also fond of Dutch bikes (Gazelle, Sparta, etc) and will always try our best to help keep these sorts of bikes on the road.

Individual fixes/parts replacements as requested/required

If you'd like us just to do one or two repairs for you, give us a call or send us an email, and we'll be happy to let you know the cost (fitting a new inner tube, for example, is £13 including the tube on most bikes).

Thorough 32-point safety, wear and damage assessment

This assessment checks every part of your bike (including frame alignment and damage) to give you a clear idea of what work it needs, any damage there might be, and how much it will cost to put right. Recommended if you've just bought a used bike, are getting your old bike back on the road after a long time out of the saddle, or if it's been a while since your bike was last serviced. PLEASE NOTE: does not include the likes of X-ray/ultrasound/microscopy scans of more exotic frame materials.

Service on Assessment

Get your bike assessed for £18, which includes a thorough, 32-point examination and safety check. Once that's done, we can give you an accurate estimate of what the work will cost. If you decide to go ahead with a service, we have only one type, at £50, which includes the cost of the assessment followed by making any necessary adjustments. Any parts which need replacing rather than only adjusting, and the labour required to fit them, are charged on top of the £50 service/assessment. That way, you only ever pay for the cost of work actually required, unlike many "Gold" or similar services which charge for work that may not need doing.
