BIKEBOOK IN THE RUNNING FOR UK STARTUP TITLE AT IDEAS FEST

Bikebook, an online platform that connects cyclists with local bike mechanics, allowing riders to compare prices, reviews, and availability to book repairs while offering mechanics dedicated workshop management software, Workshop by bikebook, has been crowned Consumer Services StartUp of the Year at the South East final of the UK StartUp Awards, and will now go head to head with the best new businesses in the country at the national final.

The win means Bikebook now goes forward to represent South East against the best new businesses from every nation and region of the UK, all competing for the national titles.

The UK StartUp Awards celebrates the country's most exciting businesses under three years old sponsored by Starling, Innovate UK, Lodestar Accounting, Xero, Ideas Fest and FundOnion. Following regional finals held across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, more than 200 category winners from ten regions now progress to a single national final. It takes place on the 9th September at Ideas Fest, the two-day festival held at Champneys, Tring.

Bikebook acts as an online marketplace that connects cyclists directly with local bike mechanics to compare prices, read reviews, and book services online. Building on that ecosystem, Workshop by bikebook is a specialised management system designed for bike repair shops and mobile mechanics to handle back of house operations, streamlining online bookings, digital job cards, customer messaging, parts inventory, and invoicing in one unified platform. Together, the two tools bridge the gap between bike owners looking for reliable service and repair specialists looking to streamline their business.

Ryan Elson, CMO & Co-Founder at Bikebook, said:

"We are thrilled to be recognised as a finalist for the Consumer Service Award at the UK National Startup Awards! This nomination validates everything we’ve been striving for: bridging the gap between cyclists and top-tier service providers through great technology and genuine passion for the cycling community."

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, founder of the UK StartUp Awards, said:

"This year's winners are not just coming up with clever ideas, they are building businesses with real purpose, commercial credibility and the potential to scale. Across every region we are seeing founders creating jobs, opening up new markets and challenging established industries. Their success is not only worth celebrating, it is worth backing."

Ideas Fest is where the winners from all ten nations and regions come together to compete for the national titles, set against two days of talks, connection and celebration for business leaders and entrepreneurs. Often described as the Glastonbury for business, it is open to everyone. More information is available at ideasfest.uk.
