PaceUp Media, the PR and communications agency for sporting brands, has been appointed by the online cycling tech platform Bikebook to provide PR services supporting its international expansion.
Bikebook launched in 2022 initially as a comprehensive directory designed to help mechanics grow their online presence, before then launching its fully integrated, multi-faceted bicycle shop management tool, Workshop by Bikebook, in April 2024.
Combined, Bikebook aims to modernise and facilitate the bicycle repairs process, providing bicycle workshops and individual mechanics with the tools they need to manage their business whilst helping to better connect them with customers. These customers range from some of the UK’s largest bike shop chains, such as Balfe’s Bikes, right through to part-time home mechanics.
Following a recent investment round, the Brighton-based tech platform is expanding its operations into a number of new key international markets and has enlisted PaceUp to support this growth through strategic PR and communications.
“We’re excited to start 2025 with PaceUp onboard, leveraging their knowledge and understanding of the cycling landscape globally,” explained Bikebook Co-Founder Ryan Elson. “This year’s an important one for the business as we expand our operations and their support will play a key role in our growth.”
PaceUp has established itself as a leading PR and communications agency in the cycling and endurance sports space over the past six years, working with brands such as MAAP, ROUVY, Le Tour de France, London Marathon, Laureus, Basso Bikes and more. Since launching in 2018, its operations have grown internationally, servicing client partners the world over.
PaceUp Founder Tom Copeland added, “We’ve followed Bikebook’s journey from its infancy when first exhibiting at the Cycle Show, so to finally now reconnect and have the opportunity to bring our ideas and connections to life to bolster the brand at this stage of its journey is an exciting prospect for us all. We’re looking forward to working closely with Ryan, Jake and the team this year on an international scale.”
Bikebook has announced a range of new partnerships across multiple sides of the business over the past several months. These include strategic partnerships with the Association of Cycle Traders and Saledock, as well as with a number of brands including Bikmo and Hygge Bikes.
Partnerships and market expansion outside of the UK are next in the pipeline for the fast-growth tech platform revolutionising its share of the cycling industry.
