About bikebook

Fixing how bikes
get fixed.

bikebook started in Brighton in 2020, when three cyclists couldn't answer a simple question: who can service my bike this week, and what will it cost? Six years on, we connect riders to hundreds of workshops and run the software behind their counters.

Our story

From one unanswered phone call to 400 workshops

2020

The squeaky bikeThree cyclists, one worn drivetrain, and a week of ringing round fully-booked workshops. There had to be a better way.

2021

The marketplacebikebook.co.uk launches. Riders compare real prices and availability nearby, and book online in minutes.

2022

Behind the counterMechanics asked for the other half. Workshop launches: bookings, job tracking and messaging for the shop itself.

2024

Beyond bikesMobility retailers and jewellery repairers join, and Alistair Brownlee comes on board as ambassador and investor.

What we build

Two sides of the same counter

A booking should be easy for the rider and run itself for the workshop. Everything we make serves one of those two people — usually both.

For riders

Book a service the way you'd book anything else, and know what's happening while your bike's on the stand.

  • Compare real prices and availability at workshops near you
  • Watch progress live on your tracker — no chasing calls
  • Approve extra work from your phone, photo and price included
Find a workshop

For service departments

Workshop by bikebook runs the whole job, so the team can spend the day fixing things, not chasing them.

  • Online bookings, one job board, statuses in your own words
  • Automatic SMS & email updates as jobs move
  • Payments, invoices and supplier stock linked to every job

The team

The people you'll actually talk to

Small enough that everyone knows the product end to end, and big enough that someone always picks up.

How we work

What we believe

Built on the shop floor

Most of what's in the product started as a request from a mechanic. We visit workshops, then we build.

Both sides win, or nobody does

Riders get honest prices up front; workshops get customers who show up. We never trade one for the other.

Plain words

Statuses in your own language, prices with no asterisks, support from a person with a name.

In it for the long ride

Independent workshops are the heart of cycling. We measure ourselves by how many are still thriving with us in ten years.

Say hello

Questions, ideas, or just want to talk bikes? We read everything.
